MZF4 Medical unveils the new Mazlene Plus suture
We are excited to announce that MZF4 Medical is now delivering samples of Mazlene Plus (Copper Phthalocyanine Blue), our new monofilament polypropylene plus polyethylene suture.
Following two years of focused research and development, Mazlene Plus has been expertly extruded at MZF4 Medical’s central site in São Paulo, Brazil, using proprietary technology and leveraging over 40 years of expertise in the production of technical yarns & monofilaments for medical applications to offer:
• Bidimensional flexibility (linear and compression), ensuring superior needle attachment and knot stability
• Reduced coefficient of friction, minimizing tissues trauma
• Low memory, easier handling and smoother suturing
• Lower bacterial biofilm formation, thanks to its monofilament structure
It will be immediately available in USP sizes 6/0, 5/0, 4/0, 3/0, and 2/0. Additional sizes (USP 7/0, 8/0, 0, 1, and 2) will be released in early 2026. This suture, made from polyolefins, is naturally biocompatible, hydrophobic and indicated for long-term implantation. Thanks to its excellent elasticity, it is also suitable for skin closure.
Mazlene Plus is recommended for applications including cardiovascular and vascular surgery, microsurgery, and ophthalmology. All sutures are delivered with complete biocompatibility testing according to ISO 10993.
